Welcome!

We (Taylor and Adri here) are soooo happy that you are interested in therapy services at the Longmont location! If you want a therapist who specializes in play therapy, you have come to the right place!

Attention to all prospective Longmont clients: Due to the high demand for child therapists in the area, there is currently a short waitlist for services. We are working on updating and taking clients off the waitlist, so it is definitely still worth it to get on it - I promise! Additionally, after school time slots are reserved for current clients. New clients typically start in a morning or afternoon slot with the opportunity to move to an after school slot once one becomes available.

Child and Adolescent Therapist

(she/her)

Hi, my name is Taylor! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and completed my Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver (2021) with a specialty in working with children and youth. I am working towards my Registered Play Therapist credential from the Association for Play Therapy. I began my journey working with children and youth eight years ago in a variety of internships and field work.

I am passionate about helping clients create change in their lives and fostering resilience in our community. My specialties include working with children, adolescents, families, and young adults from a client-centered and strengths-based approach. My work is informed by developmental and attachment theories and integrates aspects of models like play therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. When I'm not helping my clients, I am baking, playing with my dogs, and taking photos!

Adri Larsen, MA, LPCC, NCC
Child and Adolescent Therapist
(she/her)

Hi, I'm Adri! I'm individually licensed with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate (LPCC). This means that I hold a provisional license and practices under supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have completed my board certification exams and have been credentialed as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from Adams State University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021, and my Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Denver in 2009. I have been trained as a trauma-focused generalist and have advanced skills and training in the areas of trauma and relational attachment and play therapy. In addition to my graduate work, I have completed an additional 202.5 hours of play therapy specific instruction and supervision in play therapy. Currently, I'm in the process of working towards the advanced Registered Play Therapist credential from the Association for Play Therapy.

My direct clinical experience is diverse. I have worked in busy adult outpatient services serving diverse client populations, working with clients with challenges spanning from mild to severe and persistent mental health and substance use disorder symptoms and/or disabilities. I spent several years providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, teens and adults in a community mental health setting where I worked with people going through both normal and extraordinary life challenges and transitions. Much of my experience has been working with families and adoption, unique challenges of military families, co-parenting, and divorce and blended family dynamics. I have spent significant time working with parents and helping them navigate the hardest job in the world - parenting!
