Crystal Creek Counseling offers children, adolescents, and families a variety of services to help children build the resiliency they need to overcome past challenges and thrive.  

We have training in many different modalities of therapy including Adlerian Play Therapy , Animal Assisted Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy, EMDR, Experiential Play Therapy, Prescriptive Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. We match the child's symptoms, natural learning abilities and developmental needs with appropriate treatment goals to develop the most effective interventions.

*Please note - EMDR and Animal-Assisted Therapy currently only available at the Woodland Park Location, DBT and TF-CBT only available at the Longmont Location 


Play therapy is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that builds on the normal communicative and learning processes of children. 


Art Therapy is an integrative modality that enriches the lives of individuals and families through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.


Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is a psychotherapy treatment that is effective for resolving emotional difficulties caused by disturbing, difficult or frightening life experiences. 


Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a psychotherapy treatment focused on learning the skills to manage emotional difficulties. The curriculum split into four key areas of learning: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Animal Assisted Play Therapy™ (AAPT) adds the elements of playfulness, humor, and lightness to the therapeutic process, and can be helpful for clients of all ages.

Autplay Therapy is a play and behavioral therapy approach to working with children and families affected by autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. 


Supervision is available for  individuals working towards their Registered Play Therapist credential, masters' degree or licensure hours. 


Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment approach shown to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers work through early traumatic experiences. TF-CBT helps children address distorted or upsetting beliefs and attributions and learn skills to help them cope with life stressors.
